Title: | Water Research in Desjardins Canal, Dundas, Ontario |
Description: |
Researcher: Karen Kidd The main focus of our research is on understanding the effects of human activities – food production, natural resource extraction, urban environments – on the health of freshwater and marine ecosystems. Our field studies assess how industrial, agricultural, aquacultural and municipal effluents and runoff affect the diversity, abundance and health of aquatic organisms and the structure of food webs, and why fish and other aquatic life from some areas are higher in contaminants than others. |
